           The Great Smoky Mountains
                  Peace Pagoda

 
   1. From Interstate 40 take exit 440 in Tennessee.

      If you are westbound on I-40, take a right at the
      bottom of the ramp, or eastbound, take a left onto
      Rte. 73 and go past the truck stop(a Sunoco station).

   2. Take the next right onto Maple Lane.

      From this point, we will have signs.

      You will follow Maple Lane until the pavement ends
      and the road forks.

   3. Take a right at the fork and go around a curve to
      Branch Way.	

   4. Turn left and go to Classic Way.

   5. Turn left.

      After another 3 tenths of a mile the main road turns
      into Cardinal Way, but a smaller, less graveled road
      goes straight ahead. Go straight on that road for
      100 yards.

   6. Take the first right onto Woodland Way.

      Go past the sign which says

      "Do Not Enter - Locked Gate Ahead"

      We'll keep the gate open. After the gate go 2 tenths of
      a mile to where the road divides.

   7. Take a steep left turn.

      After another 2 tenths of a mile, you'll see a sign for the
      Peace Pagoda. Park your car on the left and walk the last
      3 tenths of a mile up the hill.
