Mission Statement

International Peace Pilgrimage is a non profit organization committed to bringing attention to the devastation caused by the nuclear industry to indigenous & non indigenous peoples throughout the world. As well as the environmental damage that will plague our future generations for the next hundred thousand years. Almost sixty years have passed since the world was horrified by the destructive force of the Atomic Bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is also fifty years since the atomic tests on Indigenous peoples land at Maralinga and Emu Fields, Australia, along with the thousands of other test carried out around the world.

However, we have continued to allow governments to develop weapons of mass destruction, Also after accidents at Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, uranium mines, waste sites and other nuclear facilities. Governments around the world continue to support an industry that is indiscriminately endangering and killing millions of people, destroying countless acres of land and leaving us with a waste product that must be stored for thousands of years. Despite all this the Nuclear Industry is allowed to flourish and expand faster than ever.

The International Peace Pilgrimage Towards A Nuclear Free Future is an opportunity for all people to come together in a non-violent, spiritually motivated action, which aims to create a dialogue with the public as a way to bring an end to the nuclear cycle. We also intend to raise the public awareness to the suffering and harassment that communities through out the world face by the on going destruction caused by the Nuclear Industry.

Australia has 26 % of the worlds uranium reserves making it one of the largest suppliers to the Nuclear Industry. Exporting 10,000 tons a year, with 3,000 tons to Japan and 3,000 tons to America. With Japan and others continuing to build more nuclear power plants, the Australian government is trying to create policies that will allow them to massively expand the uranium mining industry and toxic waste dumping sites within Australia. With all the known dangers involved in the nuclear industries, the world must develop alternatives that can be found in environmentally friendly renewable energy resources.

Let us bring our voices together in a prayer for peace and a future without the threat of Nuclear Weapons and Toxic Waste destroying the environment in which we all live.

Each step will be a prayer towards

A NUCLEAR FREE FUTURE

This is a spiritual event and will be drug and alcohol free.
