Atsuko,

Here is a short statement from me, I hope it helps, if I had more time I would do more. Hopefully you will get more feedback from other MFSO members and possibly the MFSO member in Japan will be able to attend the rally and speak.

Peace, Jeff

As a co-founder of Military Families Speak Out (MFSO), part of the Bring Them Home Now campaign and currently a walker with the International Peace Pilgrimage, I urge all Japanese to strongly object to the use of the Japanese Defense Forces in Iraq. As a U.S. citizen and the father of a son in the military. While many Iraqi's are glad Saddam regime is gone, most have called on the U.S. and its allies to leave. To back the U.S. is to back the fact that they broke international laws, tried to discredit the U.N. and mocked many of its traditional allies. Japan's backing of the U.S. while it may benefit ties its ties with the U.S. and provide cheaper oil; you must consider the long-term cost of backing an imperialistic nation which has created many enemies by its actions worldwide, resulting in much of the terrorism we see today.

Remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki then choose a path of peace and justice for all humankind.
