Hi,

It is hard to believe almost a year has passed since I wrote to Nancy and Charley with the idea about forming MFSO. It amazes me sometimes at how much the MFSO family has grown over the months. Yet I realize there are thousands of military families out there that we haven't reached. Your voices are very important in the world today, so continue to speak out and look for more effective ways to reach the masses and to change current U.S. policies which are endangering not only our loved ones but millions of innocent people around the globe, as well as, world peace and stability. Speak out, not only with your voices and pen but with your feet, your pocketbook/ wallet and the personal choices you make in life. .

I have met some of you personally in DC or NYC, I have talked to some of you over the phone and from many more of you I have gotten personal emails. You are family, your loved ones are my loved ones and even though I will be overseas for the next year or so, I will remain in contact. I will also use this opportunity to reach out to a world-wide audience and military families from other countries.

I want to thank Cindi, Sande and Howard who have taken over the daily task of running the listserv, they are doing a wonderful job. It is a time consuming and not always an easy task but they will hopefully find it as rewarding as I have.

I thought I would update you on what's up on my end. I have gotten very busy and because of that I have been slow at responding to some of you, please forgive me. In only 34 more days I will be landing in Vienna, Austria to spend time with my girlfriend before we fly off on November 1st, to join the International Peace Pilgrimage, in Australia then Japan for nine months.

I have 7 more nights of work. In 23 days, I load up the U-Haul, my brother arrives to pick-up my mom and we drive to GA. On October 4th, I will arrive at my son's, at Ft. Benning where I will stay until I fly out October 11th.

For the past 3 weekends, family from CT and my niece from NYC have come to visit. Last Thursday, I invited a 19 year old bicyclist I saw aside the road over to the house, he was traveling from Burlington, VT to Idaho, he got a shower, a home cooked meal and a bed to sleep in. This coming Thursday, Nancy Lessin (co-founder of MFSO) will be stopping by.

The house and my stuff for my walk has to be packed, along with address changes and closing of accounts. Seeing family and friends before I leave is also a top priority, not to say 'goodbye' but to say 'see ya later'.

My internet gets canceled on the 25th or 26th of September, so I'll be out of touch for over a week. If you haven't already, sign up for my personal yahoogroup as it will serve as my personal email account for the foreseeable future. Updates on the walk will be posted to that group site, I just posted the latest update from the organizers a few days ago- check it out.

So I'll see ya all later.
In love, peace and solidarity,
Jeff
