International Coalition
For A Nuclear Free Future
Beginning
On October 9th, 2004 while visiting Peace Hostel Amelia, Peacemaker Marcus Atkinson and a representative from Peacehq had a meeting to discuss Marcus's plans for a walk from the Y12 nuclear complex in Oak Ridge Tennessee to the United Nations Non Proliferation Treaty talks in May of 2005. Marcus, a veteran anti-nuclear advocate, felt that he and others he knew needed to express their opinions concerning these issues in a manner that couldn't be ignored. Peacehq, also a long time anti-nuclear advocate, agreed. Peacehq volunteered to provide web site services for this venture as well as organization a coalition of people and organizations interested in taking part. Thus the International Coalition For A Nuclear Gree Future was born.
