Peacehq Memories

It's been three years now since we started this project. At first it was just a small group of Flame Walkers but as the months and years went by the spirit of this body of work grew and evolved into what you see today. More folks joined in adding their experiences and spirit to the archives. I suppose that's what peacehq has finally evolved into. An archive of the actions of people to try to bring about peace and justice for all humanity without violence!

It was more personal in the beginning. More like a small family gathering on the internet. Things like Special Occasions
Spiritual Help Needed, and others, seemed appropriate on the main menu. After all, there were only a few of us and we all knew each other. Yes, it was appropriate. We are going to continue to have these features but they will be added to the Personal section of the Peacemaker's Profile rather than from the Main Menu.

As things changed and through experience working on the internet better ways of illustrating these stories were developed. Early on we used a builder tool provided by our web site host. For the first 6 to 9 months that is how we posted the stories. By this time we had learned how to write our own web pages. This gave us the freedom to do much more in the way of showing these stories. In addition more folks began to join in as what we now call Stewards of the site. They brought new ideas and dramatically made this site, how shall I say it, more beautiful, with more features and more stories.

It seems that peacehq attracted people who were interested in history. All us Stewards seem to have that in common. One thing about good historians in that they just want to record history, not change history. So one of the things you will see in this site are recordings using the first archaic technology, see Hiroshima Flame Interfaith Peace Walk - 2002 as well as several other templates developed early on such as the Atlanta to SOA Peace Pilgrimage - 2002 to what you see today, Stop The Bombs International Peace Walk.

So while things will change from time to time nothing that was posted on this site will be deleted. It's still here some where and when you stumble across it remember, it is what it was, it is history!

Peace and love
Stewards of Peacehq
