Action At Y12 - 2004
Veterans For Peace
Arnold Stieber

I remember we started to talk to Arnie because you wanted to honor his service in Viet Nam. He had come in with the group from Michigan. Being vets ourselves probably makes us naturally more curious about a vets group for peace. If anything a war vet for peace is a powerful image for the efficacy of the peace movement as a whole, and it made me want to join Vets for Peace.

Anyhow we asked Arnie if he would give is a brief statement for this web site about why he was taking part in this action. This is what he said:

"What am I doing here? Well, clearly because I think that war is the wrong way to solve problems. And for most Vets for peace, I developed this flag (white satin like background with a black dove with olive branch in its beak and Veterans for Peace lettered in black) about a year or so ago just to get the word out so they see and know who is out there being opposed to war, being healthy, and to get other vets involved in the process. Hows that, 25 words or less?"

Thanks for your sacrifice brother. Peace and love be with you abnd yours.
