A B-29 plane crashes in New Mexico, thirteen people killed.

New Mexico, USA - A B-29 crashed into a mountain on Manzano Base approximately three minutes after take-off. The bomb case was demolished and some high explosive material burned. The nuclear components of the weapon were recovered and returned to the Atomic Energy Commission. (The Defense Monitor - Vol.X No.5 19981 Washington DC"The National Times" 15th March 1981)

On April 11st, 1953 the United States performed a nuclear bomb test. The test site was Nevada. The delivery method or operation type was tower. The test series was designated as Upshot/Knothole. The test name was Ray.

April 11th,1988
Soviet nuclear submarine sinks.

(USSR Naval) Norway- The reactor in the Soviet nuclear submarine that sank off the north coast of Norway on 11th April 1988 has been reported by Soviet authorities to contain 2 kg Plutonium-239, 420,000 curies Strontium-90 and more curies Caesium-137. The submarine sank in waters 2000 meters deep, killing a large portion of the crew. ("Aftenposten" Norway 12/2/90; WISE 329 9/3/90 )
