Fast For Peace - Okinawa - December, 2002

Runs, Walks, Actions

In conjunction with "A Walk For A Peaceful Tomorrow" a 7 day fast was held on Okinawa at the US military base, Torii Station.

Torii Station is located in Yomitan-son, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. It is home to the 10th Area Support Group, 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, and other units and activities.

The fast was held as a prayerful, nonviolent protest to the continuing US military presense in Japan and to try to prevent the government of Japan from amending Japan's constitution to reinstate the powers of Japan's military forces.

The fast began on December 2nd and ended on December 9th, 2002.
