We had a great night last night thanks to Raymond who organized for us not only to stay at the Friends Meeting House, but put on a curry & cake night for us. Delicious baked pies had been delivered to the Meeting House and we devoured them with much delight.

So for all our good eating we had a steep climb along an old Roman Rd outside Skipton first thing in the morning – just to get us going, and to remind us of all the good food we have been eating.

The rain just continues to fall – so no photo’s today!! But the scenery is spectacular as the lanes turn to rivers, the lakes rise and the streams gush out waterfalls.

The land is so beautiful, green and lush. The water that is falling is cleansing us and the land. Its healing and we feel blessed to be outside walking in it. Although I wonder at times if I will ever see blue sky? It has rained for nearly a month now, a downpour that has never stopped.

At night we leave our socks and coats dripping in the hallways of the stay places. Our shoes are placed under all available heaters. Although it’s not cold, our shoes are drenched. We have put on many a wet shoe!!

We stopped for lunch at the park where Joanne and her partner, Rue joined us to invite us to their place for showers and to dry off. Latter walkers were happy to take up the offer.

Thanks to the Methodist Church for putting us up tonight, and to Joanne and Rue who supplied boxes of delightful treats for us to eat dinner, breakfast and lunch.
