Nocobalt-4-food

Navigation Bar Submit Feedback    Nocobalt-4-food was formed in response to a nuclear food irradiator built in a small PA community. Our goal was to educate the public to the nuclear dangers of the facility and of consuming irradiated food. This irradiator had been approved by the USDA to irradiate meat for the National School Lunch Program. Nocobalt-4-food is against using our children as guinea pigs! We founded and launched International Anti-food Irradiation Day which has evolved into Anti-food Irradiation Week and is held in many nations in Europe and other countries around the world.

Dr. Philip Stein of Nocobalt-4-food speaking at the first International Anti-food Irradiation Day. He's the same fella who spoke with the peace walkers in Bethlehem on Earth Day weekend.

Lenape Indians of PA and many other environmental & peace organizations gathered to protest the nuclear food irradiator.

Keynote speaker at the 2nd International Anti-food Irradiation Day was Dr. Helen Caldicott recipient of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize and well-known nuclear opponent.

Protestors out near the nuclear food irradiator on the 1st International Anti-food Irradiation Day.

After being open for only 18 months this irradiator closed due to lack of market for their product. Let this be a lesson to us all - through unified efforts much can be accomplished!
