National March on D.C. - 10/26/2002

A national march in Washington DC was held on October 26th, 2002, the first anniversary of the signing of the so-called Patriot Act,  sponsored by A.N.S.W.E.R.

"The march was a little disappointing anyway.  The organzers, ANSWER, were too sectarian and self promoting.  They did no coalition building, and they were constantly asking for money.  But still there were many good people there, and the anti-war movement is definately building.  I didn't see anyone from the Flame walk, unfortunately.  I hope some were there.  I have no way of guessing how many were there.  From the podium they said 200,000 but NPR said 10,000.  I would guess its closer to 100,000, but who knows.  It was a lot."
