My Bombing Experience and Claim

Hello everyone. How are you today? 60 years after the nuclear bombing, it is so wonderful to share this moment at the United Nations in New York, with people who care about world peace. I thank you all the support and cooperation to have this opportunity to tell of our experiences of the bombing and our sincere appeal to the public.

On August 6th, 1945, at 8:15 AM, the world's first nuclear bomb exploded at 6000 degree (C) with a flash and radiation. In Hiroshima, 70,000 people were killed right at that moment, and 140,000 died by the end of the year. By the second nuclear bombing in Nagasaki, 70,000 people were killed.

What happened was a horror. The horror shall not be repeated. People were turned into ashes with their burnt skin hanging onto the body of died from bleeding thick, dark blood from pieces of glass stuck in the body. People were also drawn to death to ease the pain of the burnt skin in the water. The river was filled with thousands of swelled bodies everywhere. Even those who survived that time all carry sickness from the radiation. In the latest years, 8,000 victims are dying each year.

I was 20 years old at the time of bombing. I was working by the window at a factory, 2.1 km away from the epicenter.

My face and all my hair were burnt, and I was hospitalized for 2 months. Luckily, I could make the medicine for the burnt skin and apply it every day. As a result, 3 mm -think of skin came off and my outer skin started to grow renewed. Nevertheless, due to the radiation, I went to a hospital for 30 years for leukemia. Also, I had to have treatment twice a month for kidney failure and had a treatment for prostate failure for a month. For these 60 years, I still suffer from chronic bronchitis, disorder in the gullet, disorder in the large intestine, prostate disability, and arthritis. I carry medicine like this with me all the time.

Other surviving victims are also suffering.

Nuclear is devil's weapons, not for humans. We shall never use it again. If it is used in one country, it will be used in other countries, and all the people, animals, event his planet can disappear from the universe.

At the 9/11 incident, approximately 6,400 people died, and the president of the United States has shown his compassion for the victims. However, for the deaths of 350,000 of the bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there is still no apology from the American president. We should also be aware that, in the world today, about 20,000 nuclear bombs exist (source: Natural Resource Defense Council website).

Everyone who loves peace on Earth, please put your voices together with us to the United Nations for its initiative to abandon the nuclear weapons. Let our sincere prayer for the world peace reach God to take all the nuclear weapC!ns away. When that happens the bell of peace and prosperity may keep on ringing on this blue planet. Our ancestors will look back the history and be proud of our victory of war on peace.

No more Hiroshima, no more Nagasaki, no more war. There is no better weapon than public opinion. Let peace conquer the world!
