In addition there is mounting pressure to "Close Woomera, Australia's concentration camp". Reports from Woomera, Australia " describe some of the protesting and conditions that exist there. Apparently there are also plans underway to build a "national radioactive waste dump" in the Woomera area. No wonder Jeff describes it as "a spooky place, presently almost empty and decorated throughout the town with missiles or other military hardware" in his update of 12/22/2003.
