Gendaiki Pronounced - "gen-die-key"    The Gendaiki is banner that has the Japanese Buddhist prayer, "Na Mu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo" inscribed on it. The monks and nuns of Nipponzan Myohoji bring this banner on all the walks and actions in which they participate. It is carried in front of the walkers followed by the monks and nuns as well as others who drum and chant the prayer.    You can see the Gendaiki in the above picture. It is the tall purple banner with the round red sun. The prayer trails down the banner as is white.
