New Friends

Joel Barker


   Joel is from Texas and he was the one who visited our camp site and invited us to visit him and his co-workers. Joel stated:

"I joined the SCA and I volunteered to work at a national park to spruce up the place a little bit because not only do I want personnaly to make an impact on a national park but put in an effort to preserve nature as well".

   Joel added the following:

   "I have also done it before and it is a great vacation. It's a blast! I like the friends that you meet. It is good to be around like minded people even though they may at times disagree with you on some things. We really aren't that different. I like the people, I like the work, it's one of the best ways to spend a summer".
