Jun San organized this walk which began on February 1, 2001, in Oakland, California and ended 500 miles later in Lompoc in front of the Federal Penitentiary. Her purpose was to have an interfaith pilgrimage to the major prisons of California, to vigil and seek a more humane alternative to imprisonment. "Everything changes step-by-step. I believe everybody has a good heart. If we realize that everyone has a good heart, we can choose another way than this kind of punishment." said Jun San. |
