In the days before
FootPrints For Peace began to organize this run as an annual event many Peacemakers joined Brother Utsumi and Sister Denise on their Atlanta to Oak Ridge Peace Pilgrimage. They both had a dream of someday having walks converging on Oak Ridge from the four directions. After hearing of this dream the FootPrints For Peace group decided to initiate a run from the nuclear refining plant in Portsmouth Ohio to Oak Ridge where they would join Brother Utsumi and Sister Denise at the entrance to the Y-12 complex. Thus began the North to South segment of the pilgrimage in solidarity with the walkers coming from Atlanta.
