The crowd leaves Bissell Park two to three abreast and makes it's way in a long procession through the streets of Oak Ridge Tennessee. The police provide an escourt and do their job very well.
It is a 2 mile walk and it was a very hot day. An emergency bus went along with us in case anyone had a problem. There was a group of supporters with water for everyone about half way to Y12. We arrived at the entrance to Y12 and filled the road up in front of the demarkation line. We only stayed long enough to drum and chant and say a few prayers and say hello to the security force personnel. They made no responses. We then proceeded to walk to the Rally area where there was a big tent, food, water and other stuff. This was the area where the rally took place. Speaches, singing, eating and all sorts of miscellaneous activities were to take place. We were getting very close to our mission! |
