March 11th,1956 Aircraft accidentally jettisoned an unarmed nuclear weapon. South Carolina, USA - A B-47 left Hunter Air Force Base, Georgia with three other B-47s en route to an overseas base. The aircraft accidentally jettisoned an unarmed nuclear weapon which impacted in a sparsely populated area 6-1/2 miles east of Florence, South Carolina.
