April 1st,1972 Pressure relief valve opened and stuck. Wurkgassen, West Germany - Pressure relief valve opened and stuck. Steam poured out and destroyed reinforcement structures. Important reactor control instruments failed to function and about 1,050 tonnes of radioactive water flowed into the River Weser.
