Home Day Log Index |
We woke to the beautiful sound of the birds and the smell of a camp fire. Duncan was up and straight out to relight the embers from last nights fire. With warm cuppa’s and some campfire toast, we packed up and left the camp with slight drizzle. The walk was strong today and I guess from all the energy over the last week that we have received for the walk we are really feeling it. I thought a lot about the stories I had heard from yesterday and was grateful and gave thanks that I am able to do what I can do for world peace and a nuclear free future. For some, each day is a struggle and they cannot walk. Sometimes these reminders are good for me, not to take my life and walking for granted. Our first stop was for morning tea at Dumfries by again the wonderful women – Fiona and Annathea. We just couldn’t believe how much work & support these women had done for us as we walked into a dry warm space for another feast of cakes, biscuits & sandwiches. Our walk this morning was so beautiful however by the end of the day we were head on with fast cars without much shoulder and the darkness that surrounded the days’ weather. With more rain in the afternoon we just kept walking to Dumfries knowing we had a rest day tomorrow. |
