The wall goes up, and the steps are almost topped out to the area where the Stupa will sit. Behind the wheekbarrow you can see the tripod we used to move obstinate or weighty stones into place. At this location Jim Toren, Brother Utsumi, and Larry Crane set the cornerstones of the platform for the monument; the largest stones moved to date. As cautious as we were accidents still happened. Thankfully no one was hurt seriously.Although Brother Utsumi scraped his wrist when a large stone shifted, then Sister Denise nearly squashed her finger while moving stones for thwe walls, and when we tried to move the largest stone on site up the drainage ditch, in front, to anchor the corner of the wall, one of the struts of the tripod snapped and the whole mess came down on Jim. Aside from a very sore shoulder he was none the worse for wear. At this point late in the day, with Larry the only uninjured worker on the crew, we decided to call it aday. Whew! | ||||
