War Protest, University of Cincinnati - 05/02/2003 |
The rally was held between 4PM and 6PM at the intersection of Calhoun and Clifton so the traffic was very heavy. There were a few passing cars whose occupants had the unusal vocabulary of one word and I did hear one passing car yell "kill em all" but for the most part the passing motorists seem to either be indifferent or very supportive by honking their horns and waving the "V" sign at us.
This was the last in an on going series of protests that have been taking place since the start of the war against Iraq. It has been held every Friday since then and since the war itself is all but over it was decided to make this the last protest. The student organizers are planning a meeting to decide what next to organize. I would estimate the number of people at the rally at the most 50. I think that more people attended but they kept coming and going. At the apex there were approximately 50. I quit counting at 43 and there were more behind me. There was an absense of police presense during the whole rally which seemed a bit unusual. Peacehq reporting - 05/02/2003 |
