I was in Montreal this evening to see a movie called "bloody sunday" which was about the civil rights march in Northern Ireland that ended in massacre of young people.Very emotional and very informative.
On the way home I noticed an abundance of police for many blocks at different corners and was very curious. So I parked and ran around till I could find the source. There were about thirty (mostly young )people carrying red and black flags, drumming and speaking in french/english against the war. This was all going on in front of Concordia University. I don`t know if they were part of a larger demonstration that may have broken up earlier.I was fasting in isolation since tuesday(part of program I have been involved with at healing lodge here in kahnawke)and came home to find that the murdering in Iraq had begun.
So it was good to see the youth making everyone take notice as they continued in the pouring rain down St.Catherine st,police in tow of course.
