The Parker House and grounds are very well kept. The house overlooks the Ohio River which is not more than a hundred yards to the south. The view of the river and the hills of Kentucky are magnificant.

One can only ponder what the human beings that were despretely trying to escape the bondages of slavery must have felt when they arrived here and looked out upon the land they escaped from, yet still so far from saftey.
