Community response to the walk has been incredible, with many people stopping to offer well wishes and donations, and invite us into their homes, businesses or community centres to rest during our breaks. We stopped for snacks at a home for mentally handicapped adults and
Tyler Vega offered a beautiful song in return for their hospitality.
We were joined this day by a family who had found out about the walk through their Quaker group. While Vicki and 2 of their kids walked, Joel and Sara-ann helped with support during the day, picking up injured walkers and transporting donated food while our van ferried luggage forward. They entertained us that evening with fiddle and flat-foot dancing , which they travel around the country performing at pubs and festivals. We are blessed to have had so many diverse and interesting people join us , as they enhance the energy of the walk and motivate us to keep walking, knowing there are many many other people who want the nuclear nightmare to end.....
