Prisoners Of Conscience
The Run - First Email

I wanted to start letting the Runners know about the Run as soon as possible. I had received a letter from Erik Johnson that I wanted to share with the Runners so I included some remarks about the Run Jim and I had decided to do within the contents of this email. So this was the first offical announcemnt, as cryptic as it was, that was sent out for this new Run. The email was sent to the following Runners: Jim Toren, Anton, Marcus, Atsuko, Dan Baylog, Jon Berkindine, Terry Stagman, Gary Linden, Fran Hardaway, Kathy "Road Mom" Ahlstrom, Curtis Gutter, Pumla Pamla, Peggy Baylog, Paul Murphy, Sean Malloy and Christy Whitten-Amadon

Dear Friends: I have received some information from Erik Johnson. I received it on October 6th, 2002. I wanted to pass this information on to you as soon as possible. Many of you have probably received the same information, If so please forgive this duplication. There are four pages so rather than fill your email box up I would appeal to you to click the Erik Johnson Watch below and read these very important documents. They include Erik's thoughts on how you can support him and his family during his encarceration.

I am also in the process of building a mail list for other prisoners of conscience. I will be posting it in some manner to the Web Site this week.

Jim and I are orgainzing a ""Run For Freedom - Prisoners of Conscience"" that we are hoping can take place sometime during the last 2 weeks of November. If enough Runners or Walkers sign up we can do it in one day. It would probably be a Saturday and would be from Little Turtle to FCI Manchester, where Eick is being held. AT the end of the run we would have a prayer vigil.

Sisters and Brothers, as Erik would say, this is what the Run For Freedom is all about! Please consider it and let us know as soon as possible if you are going to be able to join in."
