We got up to a soggy morning after sleeping wall to wall people on the floors of the Bahai Center in Drogheda.

As we walked out of town we came to a memorial that was built to honor the men that gave their lives during the hunger strike. We walked through intervals of light rain and sun all day till we arrived in Ardee where we were greeted by Leonard, a member of the town council. He escorted us to the library where the town council is temporarily headquartered until their new offices are built. There we met with several other members of the town council as well as Arthur Morgan, Sinn Fein candidate for Ireland's national parliament. He described his work to oppose the Sellafield nuclear power facility directly across the Irish Sea in England. There is much opposition to Sellafield in this part of eastern Ireland because of the health problems caused by radiation leaks polluting the Irish Sea. After his talk these local dignitaries escorted us to a local pub where they filled us with loads of tea and sandwiches. We filled our bellies with food and our hearts with pleasant conversation, then walked to the community center for a good nights sleep.
