I want to begin today by acknowledging the International Day of Action to STOP the GENOCIDE on Stolen Aboriginal Land in Australia. This International Day of Action that we support is for Aboriginal peoples’ recognition to the Howard Governments’ continued racism and genocide that is occurring in Australia. The current situation in Australia under the Howard Government is based on the interests of corporate profit and militarization. The Australian Liberal Party this week past a resolution supporting an International Radioactive Waste Dump. Under this Government the rights and status of indigenous people have been attacked whilst providing corporate welfare to the uranium mining industry, supporting enrichment programs and an International waste dump. Aboriginal people are among the worst affected by the nuclear cycle, affecting their land, their lives and their tradition.

In solidarity with the Aboriginal People of Australia: NO TO NEW MINES & NO TO DUMPS THAT ARE DESTROYING SACRED LAND AND TRADITIONAL COMMUNITIES.

We need more money spent on social welfare not for corporate greed.

Our walk took us through the university.

The Nottingham CND(Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) & Quakers joined us.

Then there was a painful short cut through shopping centre finally ending up in a beautiful circle at St Paul’s Church with a welcome from the Canon Andrew Deuchor & the Sheriff of Nottingham
