In Memory
Dewey Jessepe, -2008

Navigation Bar Submit Feedback Back in 1994 during the Walk for Justice we had a lay over at the Kickapoo Indian Reservation. During the time we spent there we had the first 1000 mile four directional run. We ran 125 miles out and back in all four directions. We were invited back in 1995 to do the run again and to attend the wedding of Dewey Jessepe and his bride to be Peggy Romero.

Then 9 years later we did the Run for Freedom out to Leavenworth KS for Leonard Peltier. When we arrived in Kansas Dewey and Peggy were there to great us and to invite us up to their house on the reservation for a end of the run ceremony on the Sax and Fox reservation and a big feast back in Kickapoo. After everything settled down we started talking about the 1000 mile four directional run and Dewey said he sure wished we could get that started again. We decided right then and there that we would try and made planes to do it the next year on the tenth anniversary of the first one.

For the next two years we did the run but then lost contact with Dewey and Peggy. I am sad to pass on the news that Dewey has passed away. And I wanted to pass on this web site were you can sign their guest book and leave messages for Peggy.
