Our rest day began with a wake up call at 1.30 in the morning, so we could go and pick up Liana from Atlanta who was arriving at the Dumfries bus station. Although sleepy it was really great to see her and after a quick catch up we went back to sleep for a few more hours.

Most of the walkers enjoyed the inside space of the World Peace & Prayer Society 18th century mansion. The rain outside did not entice me at all to go outdoors, but instead enjoy the comforts of big cosy lounge chairs.

Late in the afternoon we made another journey back out to Dumfries Train Station to pick up the ever smiling Yu-san, the Japanese women who joined us at Faslane!! Yah, more women walkers!!

When we arrived back at the Sanctuary we were invited to hold a small flag ceremony. With each flag from each country represented we read out the name, and repeated together “May Peace Prevail on Earth”, and placed the flag down on the sacred space of the room. This was a beautiful way to remember & reflect on all the countries in the world and offer a small prayer for peace. And giving thanks was a beautiful way to end our stay at the World Peace Prayer Society. Thanks again for a wonderful rest and stay, and have a great ceremony on Saturday June 30th.
