Our first stop for the day was purposely arranged to check out some of Marcus’s family history at “Atkinson Bridge”.

I thought much about how many lives have changed through out history because of all of the different journeys and paths people have taken across land and sea. For many this was not a choice but forced onto boats as slaves or convicts and taken thousands of miles to new land, to new culture.

John from the Settle Quaker Friends joined us to walk the last mile into Ingleton. We couldn’t find any stay place in Ingleton, John was helping us to transport walkers into the Settle Friends Meeting House – a huge thanks to Allison at the Meeting House who had rang the night before to tell me the good news!! In this weather it was well appreciated.
