What a busy start to the day. Reporters’ from the local newspaper arrived along with many local people to see us off. Bruce Kent joined the walk today – and maybe this had something to do with the frenzy of people.

Again we enjoyed a real summers’ day – blue sky and warm sunshine as we made our short stroll along the A4 to Slough.

Here again the walkers where welcomed by an enthusiastic group of people who had prepared tea and biscuits for us. Enjoying the refreshments, more reporters and photographers came to take our story.

We had dinner at the Quaker Friends Meeting House and then we prepared ourselves for home stays’. It’s a nice way to spend the evening in some-ones’ home – it’s such a generous offer of openness and support as we are able to shower, wash clothes and rest in the comfort of a home. It is certainly appreciated.
