Normally we don’t do updates on rest day’s because it’s full of writing out updates that have already happened getting them sent home finding internet cafes to email home much needed trips to do laundry and rest. We had all of this on our rest day but this one we also got a tour of the area by our new friend and walker Rogie. The first stop was at King John’s Castle then it was up to the top of Cooley Mountain and what a spectacular view you can see the entire Cooley Peninsula and more from here you could also see were the ancient 4 roads came together.

We also stopped and took a look at Proleek Dolmen and Rogie told us that a wish is granted to anyone who can throw a pebble up there and it stays. At the end of the day we all gathered back at St Patrick’s Cathedral for dinner and to learn what is on the agenda for tomorrow. I just want to take a minute here to thank Rogie and his family for the best rest day I have had in awhile.
